When the human race becomes entirely infertile, Earth becomes a world without hope of a future. Theo, a historian and the cousin of the Warden of England, is contacted by a group of revolutionaries, and finds that he must examine his values and decide what he wants from the future. The Children of Men is creative, and an excellent read.
We can experience nothing but the present moment, live in no other second of time, and to understand this is as close as we can get to eternal life.
