I read the third book in The Raven Cycle immediately after finishing the second, because I discovered that I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next in the series. So far one of the choices I have truly appreciated in the series is how the books focus on all of the main characters, but each book in the series shifts the main focus onto one of the main characters.

Desire and dread lay right next to each other in his heart, each sharpening the other.

Just like the first book in the series, I loved this book! I was already captivated by the characters, and so it was easy to continue to be interested in their lives.

It was a sort of ferocious, quiet beauty, the sort that wouldn’t let you admire it. The sort of beauty that always hurt.

I read this after having multiple friends recommend the series, and I was certainly not disappointed! The characters felt vivid, and the storyline was as intriguing and exciting as I hoped it would be.

She recognized the strange happiness that came from loving something without knowing why you did, that strange happiness that was sometimes so big that it felt like sadness.

The Riddle-Master of Hed

I really enjoyed The Riddle Master of Hed, but at times I felt as though the story was progressing more slowly than I would like. Overall, it was a very good book, and I’m looking forward to reading the next two books in the series.

If you have no faith in yourself, then have faith in the things you call truth.
